HIV / AIDS

HIV vulnerability is when you are more likely to get it by:
• Unprotected sex
• Blood gets mixed
• Needles (drugs ect.)

Age:
• Having unprotected sex
• Drugs
• Cutting (same blade)
• Needles

Many teenagers are more vulnerable to get HIV is because these days having sex and doing drugs are cool. Teenagers don’t really understand what is going on because they think that you know this wont happen to me, so I don’t have to worry about it. But the fact is that you can get HIV and not even know it. This will effect you in so many ways you might not feel that you can handle it. There is nothing more I can really say except that be more careful, but I don’t think that is going to happen because aparently being cool is better that being safe.

Teenagers are not being as safe because they don’t really care. I believe that this will not something that will decrease but my increase. We know what is going on but we do nothing to stop it just believe we think this will never happen to us.

Having the education around doesn’t do much. Yes this tells use what is happeing and what can happen but in the teenage mind the words are “ This could never happen to me”.
And when that day comes maybe, they will rethink what they did and what they should have done.

HIV Vulnerability
Sammy,

Nice blog entry. I think your points about teenagers not being safe because they don't care are quite right. I think often we live in denial about the consequences, or realities of our actions. I think that when teens are pressured into doing things that they don't want to do, they often end up paying for it.

Good entry.
